How can I retrieve the text in a browser's address bar?
My application knows that (for example) Opera browser is launched, and it is the active window. I need to know the URL of current web page.

Solution 2

You could write plugins for Opera if it supports it.
For IE, we write a plugin called a Browser Helper Object (BHO) which can get the URL and any notifications like when navigating to a new URL.

Solution 1

You would have to use SPY++ to find the window handle of the Opera address bar, and then somehow retrieve the text in that window using a windows message.
