Hi all,

I've a requirement to make a field in SharePoint list conditionally mandatory. There is a filed which is a dropdown. If I select one particular value in the dropdown, the other filed has to be mandatory and for other values in dropdown it need not be mandatory.

Any pointers would be of great help!

Solution 1

Workaround would be to use event receiver on ItemAdding() event and based on the value within the dropdown, forcing the user to enter value in the field before it can be saved. No OOB way is available as per my knowledge.
