I am creating my first servlet. The steps i have followed are

1) Created HTML page and saved it under "hello" directory.
2)Under "Hello" directory i have created a sub directory named WEB-INF
3)WEB-INF is containing a another folder called classes.
4)Now i have written a source code in a file name "helloservlet.java" and saved it under classes.

Now want to compile servlet but for that i need to install "Servlet API library".It is not a part of jdk but tomcat includes a copy of Servlet API.As i am using TOMCAT 7.0.34 and jre6 for my application.
Now want to copy servlet API from Tomcat to jre6 through command promt:
I know the code to write but dont know how
the code is:
h:\projectapache\apache-tomcat-7.0.34\lib\servlet-api.jar
c:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\ext

i am confused how to copy a servlet Api to jre6 and then how to compile.

Pls help me out.
