Hi,
 
Is there a possibility to detect whether some protocol handling native app. (like Skype for skype:, Facetime for facetime://, etc.) are installed on a mobile device using any javascript and/or html5 features from within webpage ?

I'm afraid where is no common way to do this due to security reasons.
 
One of the thoughts is to do validation on UI level: handle click on URL and wait on focus lost, hover, etc. events on timer. If page lost focus - some application lunched.
