Hi,
I want to remove all the item from the dropdownlist in jquery .I have 50,000 item in the dropdown list.which is the fastest way to remove all the item from dropdownlist in jquery.?

I have written code to remove item as
$("#ddlassetno").empty();
this code is working for me only in IE but in mozilla and chrome it take very long time to remove item.

Please help

Still, this method is fast. Is your system slow or memory is scarce? One of the IE versions is reportedly one of the fastest, so... Anyway, I cannot believe something else will work faster.
