why not? You can create your website without Master Page. It's up to you.

Why not .. use user control instead of master page .. or you can just copy and paste the same ui code again and again .. but it dont seems good coding practice ..Don't repeat yourself . :) :)

Yes, you can create a webiste a number of different ways.

Hi Member
You can create website without master page.
 
We have two options when you start new web project.
1. Asp.Net Website (Comes with Master Page)
2. Asp.Net Empty Website (Allows you to add pages, Master etc.. yourself)
 
When you add New Item after created New Website Project (Asp.Net Website or Asp.Net Empty Website), It will ask you to include Master page(You can see this option right bottom of Add New Item).
