HI...
I have a databas e that has a col for alphabet and a col for nums
for example: a means 0
b means 1 and so on...
now I want to convert my string from a text box to int
for example: "ab" means: 01 and...
can anyone help me that what should I do?!

I want this:
a=0
b=1
.
.
.
z=25

Solution 1

Hi, you can try this:
// Get string from textbox
string text = "L";
 
// Convert first character to lower case letter
char character = char.ToLower(text[0]);
 
// Get character code
int number = character - 'a';
