Hi, I'm attempting to develop an Android app and using a SQLite database to store the data, which I have stored in the Assets folder. Problem is I'm having trouble reading in and populating a ListView with this data. I have read that using LoaderManager, CursorLoader and a ContentProvider is the best way to do this. But I'm having trouble finding any clear information or tutorials on this.

Any advice on the best way to go about this would be really appreciated.

Thanks Guys

create a class DataBaseHandler through which you can access database tables and retrieve the data you want. For eg, use query like "Select * from plants table" and store the data related to each row in a plant bean class. Pass the collection of beans to list adapter. And display only name by using getName method of bean class. On click, pass the corresponding bean and populate linear layout with the fields values of bean object.
