display the contents of a directory in combobox in html

Hi, I want to display the content of a directory (directory contains text files only) in a dropdown combobox or list box in an html page.so the listbox or dropdown box will contain the file names only.i can use Perl script if needed.. i am using Unix server. Is there a way to do this?? plz if you have a way..
