How can i test distributed denial of service

I have sucessfully developed a ddos attack source detection software it has 3 module's detection part is done in qt and route finding module is done in c# and php is used to find entropy on each router

now i want to test it with a simulation of large amount of system how can i achieve that. for ddos attck using udp flooding

Solution 1

Get your friends to help you and bring round their PC and start a local network, to get even more computer numbers try using virtual machines.

It really depends on *your* software, the tool is virtual machines.

can i use any network simulation software i have developed this for a college project and i dont know how to test it. it can run on live ( public ip on internet )network like a charm but Im confused to test it with a simulation software
