how to remove viewstate when redsirect back to same page by back button of browser

i am maintaining viewstate in different events to show and hide popup but when i go to next page on button click which is on popup and go back to same page by back button of browser then viewstate value remains same...so how to remove view state value..or is it the correct way?

you are maintaing viewstate for asp.net control, and what is meaning of different events.

i am using 3 popups so maintaining state on diff. button click events and checking condition whether it is null or not
