How to stop bad URL input from going to Hotspot Shiled website in Firefox 20?

I am using Firefox 20. It seems that whenever I type in a bad URL (e.g., www/ insead of www., etc.) I get the Hotspot Shield search website. I don't with to have this spam. How do I get it to doing the Google website? I can't find any option to change this. And Hotspot Shield is not even listed as one of the possible search engines for the ComboBox control for that. Thanks
