how to create a database application using netbean IDE 6.5?

i never worked in netbean... now i want to work with netbean. i want to create a simple database application using textbox,listbox,etc. i dont know which server should i use and know should i do to start the process. can anybody tell me the way or link or material for clear understanding about netbean?....
