locating places on google maps

Hi developers..am new to developing android apps. I have been given a project to develop an android project(Google map) that can help consumers to locate shops in the city that sell specific commodities..problem is the shops are not included on the Google map any assistance guys..how do i add them on the map and locate them specifically
