Error 404 on asp.net page with query using dynamic collumn in stored procedure

Hi, all

I had created a summary page of data in my website. The page works find when I run it on local computer with Win7+IIS7 but the same page that run from true server will not executed and always show error 404 file not found.

Details:
- The page in my local server would connect to the same database server (using IP Address)
- The server's Windows is WS 2003 sp2+ IIS6.
- The query is using stored procedure with a dynamic collumn retrieval that made longer time execution.

Does anyone know what is the cause of this error and how to fix it? please suggest will be thankfull

Solution 1

You did not deploy that page on the server! Otherwise, a 404 would not be thrown. All other points you listed would result in a 500 in case of an error.

Thank you to Mr.Hiller. I had copied the files into server directory with remote desktop and installed as a virtual directory application. Do I need to deploy it instead? and how about other posible concerned cases?

This error behavior occurred from a little stupid of me.
