Upgrading SSRS reports from 2005 to 2012

I have tried searching the internet like an addict and I simply can not find a post on just upgrading my reports from SSRS 2005 to SSRS 2012.

I opened a report a simple report solution in VS 2005. a Report viewer or report solution. I am unable to find the exact name of the solution because I have windows 8 not and it does not want me to install SQL server 2005. I am currently trying to update everything due to this problem and I have successfully upgraded everything except for the reports. and I have no Idea where to begin because my VS2012 only gives me the option on opening a report application, which is fine but I want the reports that I developed in the VS2005 report solution to just open in my report application and then run as is. I understand that some adjustments might have to be made in terms of the graphs and tables layout and so on, but I firstly just want to upgrade only the reports from 2005 to 2012. How can this be achieved?
