Is it good to learn SharePoint as of now?

Dear All,

I wanted to know that is it good to learn Share Point as of now,what is the scope of it in the future. Because I have a opportunity to work in SAP as well but I like coding better so I thought to learn Share Point.

I have a knowledge of C#.Net, ASP.Net,ADO.Net and Basic of database.

So should I have to learn is or not,need your answer.

Hi, What is your domain experience and how many years of experience you have in a particular technology? In IT industry its always better to keep our options wide, by learning new skills.

Actully I am a fresher and its been 8 months I have joined IT industry and have a basic knowledge of C#.Net, ASP.Net ,ADO.Net ,and SQL.

But there is opportunity for me to work in SAP and Sharepoint.

And I have interest in coding.So I thought to learn Share Point.What do u say?

Heading towards something by hearing an answer from someone isn't a good way to start in my opinion.You have said,you have interest in coding.That is enough to start towards a development.But if you want suggestion,then i should say you are good enough to start SharePoint as you said you have knowledge of C#,Asp.net and database.
But again i should say,before starting you need to hear your mind's answer,if he is thirsty enough to start it then today is the day to start SharePoint for you,:)

Thank you for your nice reply. You are correct that I should have to ask myself. But the confusion is that I am also getting opportunity in SAP.

So,what is the best between them for future perspective?

As i said earlier you need not consider the future while starting a new tech,you need to consider your thirst to learn,if you will expert in that particular thing no one will beat you in the long run,:)
