connect to a webservice using vbscript http and https

does anybody have a basic tutorial or code, i repeat basic, where u can show me a connection to a webservice(with user and pass), and get the data from the response?

i never used a webservice before and i need to connect to one as a client, and get some date from it. that is all

i don't know what other info it's needed for this.
