i cannot shrink the log file in sql server is not giving any error.but the size is remaining same.why it is not shrinking.please let me know solution .

Solution 1

In SQL Server Management Studio:
1) Right-click on your database -> Properties
2) Go to 'Options' tab, and set the recovery mode to 'Simple' if it is 'Complete'
3) Click OK
4) Save your database
5) Shrink the log file
6) Set revocery mode to 'Complete' if you have changed it in step 2

This should give a fresh minimal-sized log file.
