when and how to use DataServiceContext calss in ,net

recently I meet some code using DataServiceContext class and retrieve data and executrye update operation like Base.CreateQuery<xxx> etc. I am new to this and after long time searching on the internet ,I feel very tried mof getting unclear conception m can someone give me simple example for using this class , does it belong to entity framework ? a step by step sample will be much more appreciate .
