web page auto update with out use refresh

hi sir..........

i am doing one project like cheating .two asp pages is there in my project first page name entermsg.aspx second page is showmsg.aspx.

entermsg.aspx in this page have one text box and button ,
in this text box user can enter the message can go to the showmsg.aspx

showmsg.aspx it show the messages. but i want refresh page, then only see the message.
then i am using Response.Write("<meta http-equiv=\"Refresh\"content=\"5\">");
but every 5 sec to refreshing page...

but i don't want to refresh the page....

how to update webpage data with out refreshing.....

plzzzzzzz solve my problem
