How do I store/access session information in a web api controller.

Hi,

my requirement is i have to store data in session and retrive.

am using like

public class MyclassController:apicontroller
{
public string Mymethod(string val)
{
System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session["ProductID"] = val;
}
}

but am getting runtime exception as

Object reference not set to an instance of object(Null reference Exception)

any one advice me how to resolve this issue.
