I have downloaded opencv from ubunto repository but cant install them!

Hi I have downloaded opencv 2.3 from ubuntu repository(software center), but when I try this command in terminal:

C++

dpkg -L opencv

the result is: "Package `opencv' is not installed."

how can I install opencv? it shouldn't be installed by software center automatically?
