Hi, I have application with word automation in C# with office interop. Now as we moved to win server 2008, it not working and not recommended by microsoft.

In our application user will download the templates from DB and merge the data and upload back to DB.
All the templates are in office 2003 (doc).

I want to try openxml but am confused and not successful. Can any one give a clear sample of c# using openxml? Is this a quick solution?

Also I heard openxml doesn't work for word 2003 docs, so how to convert all doc's in DB to docx? any utility available? I have 1000's of doc files in DB.

Also, please share your experience using Aspose, can I go for Aspose?? Will it work for word 2003 templates?
