Hi guys, I have a new laptop and its features are:

Intel I7-4700HQ CPU 240 Ghz
Geforce GTX 765M
Ram 12 Gb

I want to program in most used languages (Objective-C,Php,Python,Java,C++,C#,js, Ruby, ASP.NET, JavaEE, JavaFX) and you know, put in my laptop a COMPLETE programming station, targeting every SO (windows, linux, android, ios, etc). The problem is that I have a gaming laptop and I wanna play some games on my freetime. I mean, my windows 8 will stay. I am thinking about install vmware and install MAC os x for iphone programing and linux for web development. It is a fact that I need vmware for mac but for web development I have my doubts. Should I install a virtual machine of linux for web development or use wamp/xampp?, Should I install MAC for ios training?. The installation of mysql, postgres, php and even python is very easy. What I must to do???

SO? you mean Operating system?
Operating system called as OS

1 solution

What should you install? Whatever you want. You need to make a choice between multiple boot and virtualization, or the combination of both approaches. Both have benefits and drawbacks. It highly depends on the expected life time of each OS installation. When it comes to a laptop, one problem is that it rarely have more then one disk drive. You can try to find a solution with at least two drives, or with "HD caddie" which can be installed instead of optical drive (such a good thing, too bad this solution also does not exist for all laptop). Another solution would be having an external HD dock (very important thing to have anyway, it can help you in case of many disasters, for backup, loading of alternative/clear OS), preferably with USB3, but your computer should be configurable to be loaded from an external USB drive.
