Solution 1

Too big a topic however...
In a nutshell hides all the communication layer between client/server while allowing you to easily switch between communication bindings ( Http or TCP or MSQueues) without changing your business logic.

Real time (ignoring that nothing is) WCF bound to TCP protocol is pretty fast (or fast enough).
