Access Report - crosstab with text values

Currently have a table with names and column letter and department. I am trying to get the names to print on the same row with the report. It currently looks like (periods are just for spacing in the message)


DEPARMENT#1

A.......B.......C.......D
Smith
.........Jones
.........Gyrn
......................Gaston
.............................McCloud
.............................Tupou
.............................Tracy

DEPARTMENT #2 (etc)

What I want is
DEPARMENT#1

A............B............C................D
Smith...Jones....Gaston .. McCloud
..............Gyrn.........................Tupou
.................................................Tracy

Is this possible? Notes - will always only be four columns, but can be up to 12 names per department/letter combination.
