1 solution

Only the interactive IE user (or a user of any other Web browser) should be able to save passwords on a local machine, making a responsible decision and confirming it manually and explicitly. If you think about it, you will understand, that anything else, even if it was possible, would defeat the purpose of password protection.

Who told you that one thinks that you want to penetrate protection? I said that the ability to remember the password would defeat the purpose of password protection. The purpose. Perhaps, the problem is just English. It means that such "feature", it it was possible, would be equivalent to not using passwords at all. The users are really interested in having to to confirm the memorizing of the password explicitly and manually.

This is almost like if you lock you home with a key, someone advised you a "feature" of "simplifying" it, by storing a copy of the key under the rag, which everyone knows. Only the user who knows that the password won't be accessed by anyone by accessing this computer, will use the memorized password, but this is only reasonable when the owner of the password decides herself/himself on that.
