Hi
I tried several times to install SQL server 2012, 2014, SQL 2012 Management Studio (separate) and SQL 2014 Management Studio (separate) without success.

Each time all SQL components do install (except SQL Management Tools) .. I really spent a week for this without success..!! and I don't know the problem

SQL always gives the error "could not write value to \software sure you have sufficient access to that key".

While my Windows user is the admin user ..

Please help.

Aren't you trying to do this via remote desktop (using mstsc) on a Windows server above 2008R2?

You can get support for SQL Server at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/products/sql-server/support.aspx

Possible reasons found on the internet include: run setup as administrator, check for running virusscanners that may block registry access, check you pc for malware/adware that may block registry access.

You can install the Microsoft SQL Server from the Administrator credential or right click the setup file and run as administrator.
This issue generally occurs when you don't have the admin rights
