I am developing a software to a company in earlier.. The software is multi system accessing software.. I am hosting database in a server system in their LAN network. Now the day that company start other branch 1 Kilometer from old building.. They said to me they want same database in the new branch.. Is it possible to access same database from there? There two branches between No wired connection.. if its possible to connect the same server from there?

Don't you have LAN integrated to the new branch of your company ?

Yes...but it's not a good practice if you can avoid it.
What you need to do is open the Server to remote connections (so it is publicly available on the internet) and connect from there via the IP address. We can't tell you exactly how to do this as it's mostly a network config issue, and we have no idea about your environment. Google should be able to give you some starter points though.

But... this is a dangerous thing to do as anyone can access the server - so you need to make sure you have it locked down nice and tight - start by getting rid of the "sa" user and making sure all users have strong passwords and as limited access as possible).


If you can avoid it - do.
