when an image is dropped from web page to desktop,then does windows makes a copy of that image? does downloading of that image occurs?

after the page is downloaded in browser cache,then the image is dragged dropped on desktop,then windows makes a copy of that image and further donloading occurs?

Yes, Windows makes a copy of the image, and I'd say it's safe to assume the image must be downloaded by the browser ... unless the image is already in the browser's cache.

Well, let's say the download has already occured. Otherwise, how could the image be shown in the browser at the moment it is dragged to the desktop?
Perhaps in case of an "expires" header, a new download may happen. Not sure how browsers do implement that here.
