Network Programming via android

AVD (Android virtual device) does not let the programmer to have connections through internet.
I wonder is there any virtual machine for android that i can test my Network applications there, without debugging with real phone?

I suspect that is correct, the emulator has some limitations. However the article at Android Connectivity[^] may help you.
