How to upgrade setup package using msi installer after adding merge module?

The product is upgraded to newer version after changing version and product code without adding merge modules but after adding merge module in msi installer two different versions are installed.

I added vc++ redistributable Merge Modules like Microsoft_VC90_MFC_X86(X64).MSM in Merge Modules section, while upgrading setup.

It doesn't delete the previous version when we upgrade with Merge Module.

For e.g.: previous Install "setup without Merge Modules" - having version-1.0.0

Upgrade "setup kit with Merge Modules"- having version 1.0.1

It shows both versions in control panel.
