move to MVC from ASP .net

we are planning to move to MVC from ASP .net ,I would like to Know very first that

1) What is the advantage and disadvantage of MVC

2) when should use MVC and when we should not use MVC.

3) what would be the performance of the MVC when we do huge data fetching or updateing or inserting like we do now in ASP .net

any other Suggestion would be much appreciated.
