Sharepoint 2010 how to create a link

Hello guys!
I am pretty new to SP 2010, actually it is my second week working with it.

I need to create a link from the page to the server, tried
file:///\\server1\folder\documents\ and
file:///\\111.111.11.111\folder\documents\
both gave me

This page can’t be displayed

•Make sure the web address is correct.
•Look for the page with your search engine.
•Refresh the page in a few minutes.

any ideas?
