Conection to MySQL Servers without using external resources

I have a collection of mysql conection strings.
i want to get a certain table of each db to an excel sheet to generate diagrams and stuff.
the main part of the .xlsm is writen by a colleauge, so i want to offer him a function that updates the sheet with the data-source.
it's a shared file, so it's going to be opened on multiple workstations.

Problem: i don't want to setup the odbc driver on all workstations AND i don't want to install the "Connector/ODBC 5.1.13" on all workstation.

Question: is it possible to get the db-conection working, using the given resources?
OR include resources into the .xlsm?
