This is known only on the server side. If you implement FTP protocol on server side yourself, this is apparent, and on client side this information is unavailable. So, it's not clear what help do you want to get.

How would you like that someone on the other side of the world to know how many movies are you downloading from some server? :) If you're the server, you count the connections, otherwise it is impossible.
