How to save New window

I want to save New window in Python 2.6.2. I name file 1.py, file type Python and text files (py, pyw, txt). But pc shows simple file not Python, and if I choose from program bar Python Icon it simply doesnt open it. Is it pc or Python problem? How to solve it?

you question looks confusing... please elaborate New window or do you have more than 1 python version installed ?
