how to set size for sql database of visual studi 2013

i used the database of visual studio 2013 and i want to configure it . some one told me it's a low performance and i want to know what is the different between sql server 2012 and database of visual studio in multi transaction and what is the the initial size then what is the the best size to hosting database on the server
