Which one to use(Web API/WCF)

Hi,

I am new to MVC and Web API. Starting new project in MVC4. Its job portal. Here in application search is the main key.

Can I use WebAPi in my application or WCF is enough. Please provide the links which will give basic understanding of webapi. Please let me know the difference of webapi and wcf.

Did RD on webapi, however still confusing on some basic things. Where I will deploy(host) my webapi? With MVC application only i have to host right? When I use webapi, there is no need to use MVC controllers. I see lot of websites which demonstrated client code to call webapi. I did not see any mvc controller intervention. Please provide answers for above questions.
