Can we connect a sample grabber filter to a lame filter to be able to access the buffer..?

hii i have made a program in Directshow using Visual C++ to convert the microphone audio into MP3 by using LAME ENCODER. Now i would like to access the buffer so that i can use the encoded data for further processes. So my question is can i use the sample grabber to do so. Pls help me i'm new to directshow programming.
