why do subdomains are created in public_html/subdomains folder?

I am trying to create a subdomain as abc.mywebsite.com though php.
i am little successfull in it but the subdomains are getting added to the subdomains folder.here is my code:

function create_subdomain($subDomain,$cPanelUser,$cPanelPass,$rootDomain) {

    $buildHeaders .= "Host:localhost\r\n";
    $buildHeaders .= "Authorization: Basic " . $authPass . "\r\n";
    $buildHeaders .= "\r\n";

while in

$buildrequest

there is no "subdomains" mentioned after "public_html/",see

$buildRequest = "/frontend/x3/subdomain/doadddomain.html?rootdomain=" . $rootDomain . "&domain=" . $subDomain . "&dir=public_html/" . $subDomain;

Can anyone help me to find out why these subdomains are added in subdomains folder.
