Hi,

I am struggling to get going with Android development using the VS2015 Preview. I did a default install on my Windows 7 machine, built the default project okay, but it cannot find the Android emulator, even though it appears to be running fine on the screen.

I have Googled this topic, and read loads of replies, but they all seem not to apply to my situation. Also, many of them mention things like 'running ADB'. I don't even know what that is. They mention going to the Android SDK binary folder and typing things at a command prompt, but I can't even find my Android SDK install location.

I realise this is a ridiculously vague question, but we've all got to start somewhere. (Unbelievably, I am actually an experienced developer on a few other platforms.) So I would appreciate any help at all. Can anyone point me at some good tutorials or background material I can start reading?

It is a bit much to ask, but I would be over the moon of anyone could suggest why my Visual Studio might be failing to see the emulator.

Any replies (even of the 'RTFM' variety) would be gratefully received. I'm struggling here...

Kind wishes ~ Patrick

Hello Mohibur Rashid. The hyperlink is missing in your comment. I think in comments you need to mention the full link as it is.Please post the link again.
Thanks.

probably you already tried this : if you see the Android emulator running then the windows task manager will have its corresponding process and right clicking on it will give you option to open its location.
As for the Android SDK binary folder: if you installed it then the windows registry will most probably have an entry for it, So search the system registry for say 'Android' and something useful might come up.

That's very helpful. Found the SDK. For reasons that seem stupid to me, it was in C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk. Will try uninstalling and reinstalling.

Thank you.
