Can we bind tooltip in gridview linkbutton from DB without RowDataBound?

Hi,
i am trying to bind tooltip from sql query as ToolTip='<% Eval("StatusLinkToolTip") %>' but in tooltip it showing <% Eval("StatusLinkToolTip") %> as toltip content.

Can anyone help?
