Ask the Android Studio designers. But code formatting is often made syntax-aware, for your convenience.
What would you mean by "significance"? The question makes little sense. Write different kinds of code and see how it is formatted. What's the problem?

Fair enough, a 5. It could also be possible that the inquirer was never familiar with the concept of "syntax coloring" before, otherwise the would not be a need for the question.
