how to develop a filter driver for capturing currently active windows' title,,is there any built in routine available?

this is my first driver development task and i got stucked at the handle creation part for getting information about the currently active windows in the system.As if i also don't have much of idea of how to handle i/o requests.Plz support.Thanx in advance.
