What is the best way in handling long running process from an asp.net website

i need to to kickoff the batch job from an asp.net website .I dont need to wait for a response .Just kick off .But these processes are really long running process. Please advise...

You can start a separate process; what's the problem? But I wonder why? no feedback on the results of these process at all, never? :-)
