Is there any use of writing code inside the python __init__.py file

Hi Every one,


I am recently working with python for a tool development in my project. In that project i am mostly into the debugging purpose. I am able to see that the previous developers who have created this tool have written code inside the python's __init__.py file but as i know this file is used for importing the modules that are placed in the different directories. But here i am confused that the __init__.py file is having some of the codes in it and i wonder that how the code will be put to run. Please help me on this if you feel like this question is in a very basic of python than i would like to say that i have a less experience in the python programming language.
