Populating or reading text files in a databound app

I am planning to use a databound app template in my upcomming app
because it suits what i wanted to use it for.
But is it possible for me to populate the list and the details page
with text files i.e i will create a folder for my text files in my app
folder and read them in the databound app template.

If there is a tutorials or source code for this kindly share
