Discard user action (changes on disk) at reboot time

Hi all. Quick question: is it possible to locally map a ram-disk drive to an active partition so that every modifications on the physical disk is actually performed on the virtual Disk, but reading operations on both drives? what i want is the possibility of discarding changes when the PC reboots (just checking the concept). i initially thought of creating a snapshot and restore it at boot time, the problem is the reliability of Volume Shadow service.
